Q&A with Isabella R.

• What is the most memorable moment of your program experience?

  Investing all my time and effort in something that I enjoyed doing was the best part of my experience with Envision.

• How has the program encouraged you to take action in your school or community?

  The program emphasized collaboration and team work to get things done. This past September I joined a leadership group on campus that works together to promote community service for the students.

• What inspires you as a young leader?

  I am inspired by people who work hard for something they love. They devote their whole being to that one cause. That inspires me to try my best to achieve what I can achieve.

• How was attending the program different than learning in a traditional classroom?

  Instead of just sitting in class and listening to a lecture, I was able to have a more hands-on experience. I got to work with other students as driven as me, and I also got to see what I was capable of accomplishing in terms of a task.

• How has your program experience helped you focus on a career path?

  Before attending the program, I was pretty sure I wanted to pursue a career in law however, I didn't know if I would be any good at it. The program helped me realize that I am good at something when I put my mind to it, and that I definitely want to pursue a career in law.

• What extracurricular activities and or hobbies do you take part in?

  I am a part of my school's Mock Trial and Speech and Debate teams. I tutor middle school students after school, and I am part of At Your Service, a leadership group on campus. I also take an active role at my church by taking missions trips.

• What are your professional aspirations?

  I aspire to become a lawyer, and attending the Intensive Law & Trial program only strengthened my aspiration.

• How has your program experience impacted your life and your future?

  The program made me realize that I am capable of doing so much more than what I thought I could do. I am now more confident in myself when it comes to speaking in public, voicing my opinions, and talking to other people in collaboration. I can confidently say that after this program, I will be pursuing a career in law.

• What would you tell other students who are interested in attending an Envision program?

  I would highly recommend that other students attend one of the myriad of programs Envision offers; not only for the experience in a potential career, but also for the opportunity to meet people who are equally dedicated and bright.
