NYLF
The National Youth Leadership Forum (NYLF) was founded with the vision of preparing high school students for college and future careers. The very first forum, focused on National Security, set the stage for what would become a nationally recognized series of immersive learning experiences.
Envision acquired NYLF in 2007 and has continued to uphold its flagship brand and mission. Today, NYLF still inspires the nation’s most promising elementary, middle, and high school students through immersive, interactive, and hands-on learning experiences.

Day 1

Meet your Advisor and classroom group while you participate in icebreaker activities and expectation setting, then enjoy hall time to relax, connect with peers, and ease into the week.
Day 2

Learn from an expert about how businesses attract and convert customers, from initial contact through closing the deal.
Define key concepts of the acquisition process, explore lead generation strategies, and map a complete customer journey. Apply what you learn to a real-world case study.
Work in teams to practice building customer relationships and demonstrate how companies grow their base through targeted strategies.
Test your knowledge in a lively trivia competition while building friendships, practicing your teamwork skills, and enjoying the fun side of the college experience.
Day 3

Hear from a professional about the importance of financial literacy and how leaders make smart money decisions.
Understand the fundamentals of profit and loss statements, budgeting, and forecasting. Learn how financial data drives business success.
Collaborate with your team to apply budgeting and forecasting tools, test different cost-control strategies, and evaluate how financial choices affect growth.

Day 4

Develop confidence in your communication through interactive speaking activities that encourage peer feedback and collaboration.
Hear directly from admissions professionals and college students about preparing for higher education and navigating campus life.
Walk through your host campus, explore academic spaces, and get a taste of what it’s like to be a future college student.
Explore your surroundings in a fast-paced challenge that gets you moving, thinking creatively, and working with your team in new and exciting ways.
Day 5

Engage in interactive workshops and team-based sessions that deepen your understanding of organizational strategy, team dynamics, and effective communication in a business setting.
Examine how organizations align people with goals and evaluate strategies for managing challenges.
Work in teams to identify risks facing an organization, propose solutions, and practice strategic decision-making in a collaborative setting.
Share music, laughter, and moments that help you bond with peers and create joyful memories along the way.
Day 6

Learn how businesses identify customer needs and use design thinking to create solutions that resonate with the market.
Explore the role of product management as you apply design thinking, understand the product development lifecycle, build a simple roadmap, and apply these concepts to a real-world business scenario.
Explore product management fundamentals, develop team-based product strategies, and refine professional presentations that integrate business planning, preparing you for a polished boardroom-style showcase.
Unwind with your group, reflect on progress together, and support one another as you get ready for the final boardroom pitch. Close the night with hall time to relax with peers.
Day 7

Step into a professional-style boardroom experience as you deliver your team’s presentation, respond to thoughtful questions, offer constructive feedback to your peers, and reflect on the insights you’ve gained throughout the week.
Take in local sights and landmarks, then share a meal with peers as you explore your host city together and celebrate the week’s achievements.
Celebrate the week’s achievements, share final memories with your peers, and reflect on how the experience has shaped your goals. End the evening with hall time to connect one last time.
Day 8

Head home with new memories, lifelong friends, and experiences you’ll carry into the future.
Students flying home will be escorted to the airport; all others will remain on campus until pick-up.

Earn College Credit
Students attending select programs are eligible to receive college credit(s) through George Mason University. Credits are included in the cost of tuition and awarded upon successful completion of the program.

Frequently Asked Questions
This summer’s program is for you if you're a high school student interested in exploring the various career options available in business. NYLF Business Innovation is your springboard to achieving tremendous success in college and in a future career.
To attend NYLF Business Innovation, you must be in grades 9–12 during the 2025-2026 school year. Most of our students are either nominated by educators or selected through our academic partnerships. If you have not been nominated or selected but are interested in taking advantage of the life-changing opportunities that the program provides, we encourage you to contact the Office of Admissions today.
Your tuition for NYLF Business Innovation includes housing (Residential students only), on-site meals, supervisory personnel, program materials, college credit costs, all program activities, a Certificate of Achievement, and local transportation during the program. For commuter students, lunch and dinner on-campus is included.
However, your transportation to and from home and the program location is NOT included in tuition. While attending the program, you'll need money for off-campus meals, souvenirs, snacks, and other incidentals.
Yes, our residential program includes two college credits from George Mason University, while the commuter program includes one credit.
The program takes place on the campus of Georgia Tech University, Yale University or the University of California, Berkeley Clark Kerr Campus.
